In a recent interview with Parade, Julia Trina, star of “90 Day: The Last Resort,” bravely addressed her husband
Brandon Gibbs’ ongoing battle with debilitating anxiety. While their lives may appear bubbly and carefree on social
media, Julia revealed that the reality behind closed doors has been anything but easy.
“I never met an innocent person like Brandon, but he has a big level of anxiety, so he’s been in the hospital,” Julia shared, opening up about the severity of Brandon’s struggles. She disclosed that his anxiety reached a critical point during the filming of a “tell-all” episode, resulting in a major anxiety attack. “His heart almost stopped, basically,” she recalled tearfully, illustrating the intensity of the situation.
Despite her compassion, Julia admitted that she has struggled to effectively support Brandon through his anxiety, as she has never personally experienced similar feelings. “I don’t know sometimes how to deal because I never have experienced that,” she confessed.
The couple’s journey is not solely focused on anxiety; they are also navigating deeper marital issues. Julia highlighted a derogatory remark made by castmate Jasmine Pineda, who casually described Brandon as having “the personality of a fart.” Julia expressed her disappointment, stating, “Jasmine, you will regret it when you know what happened,” underscoring the disconnect between Brandon’s true character and such superficial judgments.
Julia and Brandon, who joined Season 2 of “90 Day: The Last Resort” to work through their marital struggles, are not only contending with anxiety but are also dealing with intimacy issues and differing views on starting a family. While Brandon is eager to become a father, Julia remains uncertain about having children at all. These differences have led to arguments and feelings of distance in their relationship.
Together, the couple is actively working with a team of professionals to improve their connection and understand each other better. Julia remains hopeful, stating, “I’m rooting for me and Brandon,” as they strive to participate in the recommitment ceremony at the end of the retreat.
Despite the challenges they face, Julia’s unwavering support for their marriage shines through, as she notes, “Can I be selfish? I’m rooting for me and Brandon.”
