In the realm of the 90-Day Fiancé franchise, I do not believe that Michael’s comeback is warranted. He initially met
Angela Dean through Facebook, and after dating online for some time, they eventually met in person in Nigeria.
While I enjoyed their first meeting on the show, they quickly became one of the worst couples in the franchise, in my
opinion. Michael’s actions, including cheating on Angela, resulted in significant trust issues in their relationship. I was disheartened to witness Angela continuously giving Michael chances, even after he repeatedly demonstrated that he was untrustworthy.
Over the years, I learned about Michael’s infidelities, as he flirted with other women online. I thought Angela would finally end the relationship when she discovered Michael’s questionable WhatsApp group and secret accounts, yet she forgave him and brought him to the United States on a spousal visa. However, Michael lived with her for merely three months before unexpectedly leaving her home. He has since settled in Texas while Angela attempts to have him deported. It’s clear that Michael’s love for Angela was never unconditional.
Now that Michael is single, many fans anticipate his return to the franchise in search of true love after a tumultuous seven-year relationship with Angela. While I believe both Angela and Michael deserve happiness after their separation, I do not think Michael, given his questionable character, should be featured on reality TV again. His lack of integrity and accountability has repeatedly been evident in various spin-offs, making it unenjoyable for me to consider his return.
In my view, unconditional love does exist, despite some questionable relationships in the franchise. Couples like Alexei and Loren Brovarnik, Omar Albakh, and Avery Mills, and Sam Wilson and Citra Harani have shown what true love looks like. It is evident, however, that Michael never truly loved Angela; his actions over the past seven years indicate he was primarily using her as a means to enter the United States. While I agree that Angela’s verbally abusive behavior towards Michael was out of line, he often remained silent, possibly because his ultimate goal was to gain entry into America and subsequently leave her.
Michael has become something of a troublemaker; although Angela is often labeled as abusive, Michael’s deceitful behavior and infidelity frequently go unnoticed. I choose to judge Michael based on his actions rather than Angela’s behavior, especially considering his consistent dishonesty and manipulative tactics to secure a visa. I am not interested in witnessing his love story unfold on the show. While I wish him well, I have no desire to spend my valuable time watching him potentially find true love after mistreating Angela for so long.
I am not alone in finding Michael problematic. Even the producers of 90-Day Fiancé reportedly consider him a troublemaker and are hesitant to hire him again, especially without Angela involved. According to an Instagram post from a gossip account, Angela stated that Michael wouldn’t be coming back due to his troublesome behavior. She claimed that producers are more interested in drama but are not keen on hiring someone like Michael, who seems to bring in less excitement.
Angela’s captivating personality is a significant reason they have been featured in different spin-offs, having appeared on TV for over six years. Her dynamic character adds an element of interest, while Michael reticent demeanor fails to create the same intensity. Over his six years on reality TV, Michael has not contributed many memorable lines or scenes. I was saddened when he left Angela merely three months after arriving in the United States, showing no interest in reconciling or giving their relationship another chance. He even hid money from her and was involved in a questionable visa group.
Despite ending things with Angela, I have noticed that Michael seems eager to remain in the public eye. He has not yet secured a steady job and appears to be leveraging his newfound fame for attention. Reports indicate he is entangled in a love triangle, and I hear about his name associated with scandals quite frequently. A few months ago, he was accused of sleeping with a married woman, and in July 2024, he allegedly caused a car accident, admitting it was his fault. Such reports suggest that leaving Angela might have been part of a long-term plan, using her aggressive behavior as a justification for his exit.
Recently, a social media account shared a screenshot of a direct message claiming that Michael is involved in a complicated relationship. Although he is still legally married to Angela, he reportedly cheated on her and even got his side piece pregnant. Given these troubling developments, I find myself uninterested in watching Michael on 90-Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After. It seems he is not genuinely searching for love but rather attempting to establish a foothold in America under dubious circumstances.
