Fiancé: Love in Paradise.” Luke was 30 years old on the show, while Maybellene was only 19. Their age gap raised

discomfort among viewers, with many theorizing that Luke may have met Maybellene when she was underage. Luke

and Maybellene had met a year and a half before the start of filming for “90 Day Fiancé: Love in Paradise” season four. However, the confusing timeline wasn’t the only red flag in their relationship. Compared to other couples with significant age differences, such as Shawn Finch and Alia Dbatista, who found success despite their age gap, Luke and Maybellene appeared to have lower chances of making it work. Shawn and Alia eventually made things work, with Alia moving to the U.S. from Rio de Janeiro to marry Shawn, and they will be featured in “90 Day Fiancé” season 11.

Luke first crossed paths with Maybellene during a vacation in Colombia, where they dated for six months before he proposed. He was drawn to Maybellene’s confidence and envisioned a future together. When introduced to fans on “90 Day Fiancé,” Maybellene was living with her pet Pomeranian, Angel, in a luxurious apartment that Luke had provided. In terms of employment, Luke mentioned on camera that he was fired from his job due to spending too much time traveling back and forth between Los Angeles and Colombia. The position had previously allowed him to live a comfortable life while also supporting Maybellene. According to his LinkedIn profile, Luke worked as a senior technical sales representative for a mining company called Martin Marietta and had a background in mining engineering, along with an MBA from the University of Redlands. To sustain himself, Luke has maintained multiple income streams. He promotes his brand on Instagram, referring to himself as an entrepreneur and engineer. He has tagged a page called International Gold Express, which specializes in custom sunglasses, watches, and fine jewelry. Additionally, Luke works as a tour guide in Colombia under his brand, Luxer, and invites fans to DM him for assistance with travel plans. Furthermore, he published a book titled “Meet and Maybellene” in September 2024, which details his relationship with Maybellene.

As for their status within the “90 Day Fiancé” franchise, Luke and Maybellene frequently shared updates about their relationship while appearing on “90 Day Fiancé: Love in Paradise.” Unlike other couples who choose to keep their relationship status private, they celebrated 25 months together in October 2024. Though Luke has not posted anything about their relationship in 2025, Maybellene continues to reside in Colombia. There remains a possibility that Luke and Maybellene could be filming future projects, such as “The Other Way” or “Before the 90 Days,” depending on whether they will settle in Colombia or the U.S. for the long term.
