Signs Big Ed Brown Is Struggling Financially & Wants to Return

90-day fiancé and Happily Ever After star Big Ed Brown seems to be in a bit of a financial mess after his split with

Liz Woods in season 8. Big Ed began his reality TV journey with 90-day fiancé before The Single Life, season 4,

where he met his much younger girlfriend, Rose Vega, in the Philippines. His behavior towards Rose was heavily

criticized, as he insulted her appearance and mocked her poor living conditions. However, even bad publicity is good publicity, and Big Ed became a successful meme in 2020.

Despite Rose dumping him, Big Ed came back with a new spin-off called 90-day: The Single Life, season one. He and Liz kept breaking up and getting back together until their 15th split became their last. Liz even got a new boyfriend, Jason Zuniga, within a few months of Big Ed leaving her. However, Big Ed is still looking for love, and it’s not a good thing for his future in 90-day fiancé. Big Ed seems to be looking for different ways to stay relevant after his split with Liz, which took place in August 2023.

Big Ed’s contract with 90-day fiancé was ending, and even though Liz wanted a reconciliation, Big Ed was not interested in taking her back for the 16th time. He had complained about Liz’s anger issues, and perhaps he was bored with her and wished to have a new partner on his 90-day fiancé journey. However, almost two years have passed since Big Ed and Liz split, and he has still not been able to find a girlfriend. In November 2024, Big Ed hinted at an exit from the franchise in an interview with In Touch, revealing that his contract was expiring in December 2024 and he was “up for grabs.”

Big Ed’s engagement with Porsche did not work out, and when Porsche spoke about their whirlwind engagement on social media, she claimed that Big Ed had gotten engaged to her for publicity. She did not believe that the engagement was real or a commitment in any way. Porsche said that she would not have genuinely committed to someone within less than 24 hours of meeting them, and she confirmed that they were not together by any means. This confirmed rumors that Big Ed’s entire story about proposing to Porsche with a paperclip ring was fabricated. Big Ed later announced that he was single and going to be single for a while, saying that he had talked to his family and realized he didn’t want to get married.

Big Ed’s social media engagement is poor, and unfortunately for him, his dating life has ensured that he doesn’t come back to the show anytime soon. Even his Instagram page proves that Big Ed, who once loved partying with young women and showed off his adventures on his stories and posts, is not interested in doing it anymore. Big Ed has over 600,000 followers on Instagram, but that isn’t reflected in his engagement, with only double-digit likes on his latest post and single-digit comments. Big Ed needs to up his Instagram game to earn as an influencer. Additionally, Big Ed isn’t as popular on Cameo anymore, and with him not being on the show, his Cameo requests will start dwindling, and fans might go with a reality TV star who’s more popular.

Big Ed could be struggling in his real estate business, which he started when he moved to Arkansas in early 2023. He had announced that he had completed $1 million in deals in his first year as a real estate agent, but his desperation to be back on TV and his launching of his own wine suggests that he’s not as successful a real estate agent as he wants fans to believe. Big Ed has launched a wine in the US, called Big Ed Malbec, after buying a vineyard in Argentina. However, when he posted about the wine on his Instagram, he got only 623 likes, and most of the comments were from fans making fun of him.

Big Ed has announced his new show, and it’s not 90-day fiancé. In January 2024, Big Ed shared that he’s currently working on a home renovation show called Big Ed’s Home in Heart, with four episodes already ready to go. He has pitched the concept to a few networks, hoping they’ll pick it up. Big Ed mentioned that he’s still excited about being on camera and having fun, but not wanting a regular 9-to-5 job. His mention of other networks suggests that 90-day fiancé: Happily Ever After was his last show with the network.
