90 Day the Last Resort star Aulu Fugafau has been residing in the United States for the past six years. However, he
recently sparked concerns among fans after suggesting that he may be deported to Samoa amid a mass deportation
drive in the country he immigrated to. Aulu had moved to America in 2018 on a K1 visa after marrying his American
partner, Kanani Fugafau, with whom he already had a son named Oliver. The couple welcomed another son, Kennedy, in the following months.
Their relationship, however, was put to the test when Aulu cheated on Kanani with another woman during a trip. Kanani took the opportunity to re-examine her marriage and began a physical relationship with another man named Dallas. While Aulu and Kanani ultimately went their separate ways, they have maintained a friendly relationship while co-parenting their sons. In fact, Kanani has even welcomed a child with Dallas, while Aulu appears to be living a single life.
The concerns for Aulu’s deportation status arose when he shared a video from the US Immigration office on Instagram, claiming that he was being deported back to Samoa. Aulu stated that his green card visa and all his papers had expired. However, he later chuckled and joked about being deported in the same video, using the hashtag #deporting and saying “Samoa uncoming.” Fans of the reality TV star were initially alarmed by Aulu’s claims, given the current climate under the Trump administration, which has prioritized identifying and prosecuting immigration violations.
However, upon closer inspection, it appears that Aulu, who entered the US on a K1 visa sponsored by Kanani, is not at risk of deportation. As a legal immigrant, he is eligible to apply for citizenship and has the option to renew his green card and visa. Aulu’s decision not to have done so in the past may only result in him waiting a few months to receive his renewed green card, rather than being deported. The 90-Day the Last Resort Alum has built a loving family with his American wife, despite their separation, and has two children in America. As such, it is unlikely that he will face deportation.
