I Believe Loren & Faith Should Never, Ever Get

In the ever-dramatic world of reality television, few stories seem as disheartening as that of Lauren Allen and Faith

Giok Tulad from 90 Day Fiancé: Season 7. Introduced as a couple bound by a whirlwind romance facilitated through

a dating app, their journey raises serious concerns about manipulation, dishonesty, and the complexities that come

with cross-cultural relationships.

A Misguided Rescue

Lauren, hailing from Las Vegas, met Faith, a resident of the Philippines, on a dating app and quickly became enamored. However, in a move that would have severe implications for both parties, Lauren secretly harbored intentions of marrying Faith and relocating permanently to the Philippines without informing her of his plans. For Faith, who had not had a boyfriend in three decades, this encounter initially felt like a beacon of hope—a chance at acceptance and a new life in the United States.

Regrettably, Faith’s perception proved to be misguided. The discomfort began to mount as Lauren subsequently made shocking admissions about his infidelity, presenting polygamy as a rationalization for his betrayals. It became painfully evident that Faith was being manipulated throughout their time on the show, as Lauren’s web of lies grew more intricate.

The Language Barrier and Manipulation

Watching Lauren confess to cheating while trying to justify his actions was heartbreaking. Faith, who struggled with the English language, often was left in the dark about the true implications of Lauren’s words. When Lauren mentioned sleeping with other people, Faith didn’t grasp that it meant he was being physically unfaithful to her. Instead of being honest, Lauren exploited their communication difficulties to indulge in his desires while maintaining an image of commitment to Faith.

The situation was further complicated when Lauren’s friends called Faith, indicating that she was the “special choice” among many potential partners. However, once the call ended, Lauren’s friends questioned the exclusivity of their relationship, revealing their awareness of Lauren’s intentions, which ran counter to the narrative he spun for Faith.

A Web of Lies and Financial Struggles

As the season progressed, it became clear that Lauren had ulterior motives in his relationship with Faith. He often lamented being broke and homeless in Las Vegas while also claiming to work multiple jobs. Yet, he was ready to move to the Philippines with a mere $46 in his pocket, raising alarming questions about his plans for sustainability upon arriving in Faith’s homeland. It appeared that he was more interested in leeching off Faith’s resources than building a life together based on mutual support and love.

Compounding the tragedy of this relationship are Lauren’s past financial obligations. He was previously married to Chayenne Allen Hines and had two children. Following their divorce, he was accused of willfully abandoning his children and failing to meet his child support obligations. Meanwhile, Chayenne struggled to provide for their children, often lamenting their lack of basic necessities. Lauren, on the other hand, appeared to enjoy a carefree lifestyle in the Philippines, seemingly brushing off his parenting responsibilities in pursuit of a new relationship.

Questionable Intentions and Relationships

The narrative took additional twists when Lauren discussed his attraction to trans women, revealing a complicated relationship with his identity and sexuality. His past relationships were marred by complications as he received support from his ex-girlfriend Esther, who re-emerged during the season but raised questions about whether Faith was privy to any of this history.

Ironically, before meeting Faith, Lauren was involved with another individual he thought was a ladyboy but turned out to be a scammer. This led him to seek out Faith while dubbing her as his “savior.” It’s hard not to see this as a predatory move, considering the emotional and psychological implications of such a betrayal.

Ultimately, Lauren’s journey in 90 Day Fiancé raises meaningful questions about trust, respect, and the intricacies of love across cultural divides. The fallout from this relationship is a somber reminder of the potential vulnerabilities faced by those seeking love in the realm of reality television. It’s a story that illustrates how quickly things can spiral out of control, often at the expense of emotional wellbeing.
