Victoria advises her father to keep his eyes open, adding, “Look at Mom” as Victor’s eyes roll back in his head. Victor

tells Nikki, “You’re really gorgeous,” while Mariah frantically glances out the window at Sharon’s house, troubled by

her fight with Tessa. During their argument, Mariah had said, “I can’t believe you would do this to me.” Sharon urges Mariah not to assume the worst as Tessa and Arya have been gone all night. Despite Mariah’s best efforts, she is convinced that Ian has taken them.

Sharon hopes that Tessa is simply venting, but Mariah insists she knows Tessa and that she had promised to inform her before taking Arya away. While recognizing her mother’s attempts to cheer her up, Mariah stresses that they must accept the facts: her family has been taken by that madman. Sharon claims that Ian wouldn’t harm Tessa or Arya since his intention is to get to Mariah. However, Mariah argues that Ian’s temper is volatile and that he may have given up on a relationship with her, using her family instead to inflict the greatest harm.

Sharon reminds Mariah that Tessa is strong and intelligent, but Mariah fears for Arya, who is small and defenseless. Suddenly, there is a knock at the door, alarming Mariah as she fears the cops are bringing bad news. To her relief, Tessa and Arya are standing there when Sharon answers the door. “I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry,” Mariah exclaims as she rushes over to embrace Tessa. Meanwhile, at the ranch, Nick advises Ian to wait since an ambulance is on the way, but Ian expresses a wish to die before it arrives, challenging Nick to finish him off with the rifle. Nick counters that Ian wouldn’t be able to match even a fraction of the suffering he has inflicted on others.

Back at Sharon’s house, Mariah tells Arya how much she missed her. She worries that Arya should be admitted to the hospital, but Tessa believes she is fine. Mariah wants to contact the police, revealing her anxiety about Tessa’s sudden disappearance. Tessa admits that she hadn’t realized how much Mariah had been worried and explains that her car ran out of power because she hadn’t checked if it was charged. With a dead phone and no way to contact Mariah, she found herself stranded by the roadside, which gave her time to reflect on her foolishness. As Tessa apologizes, Mariah embraces her again.

At the ranch, Adam consults Michael on how to handle the situation. Michael reassures him that Victor will be alright as long as the family maintains the story that Ian shot Victor using the security guard’s gun before he came to the rescue. Victor, mustering his strength, confronts Ian in the living room, telling him he will “rot in hell.” Ian simply responds, claiming to have no doubt about it, and then faints. Nikki urges Victor to wait for the ambulance, inquiring about Tessa’s return to Sharon’s house. Tessa explains that they couldn’t walk home due to the cold, and that Abby had found them when she recognized their car.

Suddenly, sirens can be heard approaching, prompting Sharon to say, “They’re on their way.” Mariah, in disbelief, wonders what else could go wrong that night. Chance, upon arriving, seems optimistic that there’s a legitimate reason for the situation at the ranch, while Adam points out they are mainly worried about Victor. The paramedic informs them that Victor will require surgery but reassures them that he will be alright.

Upon being wheeled outside, Victor expresses his gratitude towards Michael for staying with him. As Nikki approaches Ian, she reflects on how they are finally putting an end to his reign of terror. She remembers the first time he returned to Genoa City and accuses him of wasting his life while mistreating others. Meanwhile, inside the main home, Sharon assures Mariah that Ian will never harm them again, though Mariah acknowledges that it will take time to come to terms with what has happened.

As they prepare to wheel Ian out to the ambulance, Sharon interrupts to deliver a scathing speech about Heather Stevens, who shouldn’t have died while Ian is still alive. She states that Ian has contributed nothing to the world, and his suffering has only just begun. Flashing back to her childhood, Mariah reflects on how she once idolized Ian, desperately seeking his approval. As she confronts him, she cries out that he turned on her when she tried to escape after realizing his true nature, declaring that she only experienced torment at his hands.
